Toss : Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first

After sending to bat first by Delhi Capitals the things were not looking pleasing for the Kolkata Knight Riders as there was an early collapses of their batting line up loosing Nikhil Naik, Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana in quick session. Skipper Dinesh Karthik consolidated the innings together along with Andre Russell and added 95 runs together for the 6th wicket.

Shubman Gill was unfortunately run out on 4. The things were getting out of control before Andre Russell onslaught as he again scored hustling 62 runs off 28 balls including 6 sixes in his innings. Skipper Dinesh Karthik also scored a half-century before he was dismissed by Amit Mishra on 50 runs off 36 balls. Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.

In Reply to, KKR 185 runs Delhi Capital’s team was looking very consolidated from the beginning. Shikhar Dhawan unfortunately, got out early on 16 off just 8 deliveries. Prithvi Shaw along with the skipper Shreyas Iyer added 89 runs together skipper got out when it was 116 runs on the board at the end of 12th over.

Things start getting difficult for the Delhi Capitals afterward but Prithvi Shaw on the other end had some other plans.He, unfortunately, did not manage to score a ton for his team as he caught behind on 99 runs. Rishabh Pant, however, struggle this time as he scored 11 runs off 15 balls and made it difficult for his side.

Colin Ingram run out on the last ball of the inning which lead to the first super over of season 12. KKR somehow manages to made a bounce back and took the match to the super over. Delhi Capitals gave them a target of 11 runs in the super over. Which was later defended by the Delhi Capital’s fiery pacer Kagiso Rabada, and KKR finally loses after putting a great show.

The match was decided in the super over and Delhi Capitals beat KKR in the super over by 3 runs.
