Toss : Kings X1 Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first

After sending to bat by Bhunveshwar Kumar, Sunrisers suffer from an early loss as Jonny Bairstow departed on 1. After him, David Warner and Vijay Shankar were not looking positive at all. They wasted a bunch of deliveries and made things very difficult for the upcoming batsmen. Vijay Shankar got out on 26 off 27 balls. The team score was 56 and it was 10.4 overs that were been wasted. But after his dismissal, David Warner gains some momentum along with Mohammad Nabi, Manish Pandey, and Deepak Hooda. Mohammad Nabi scored 14 runs off 7 balls, Manish Pandey scored 19 runs off 15 balls and Deepak Hooda scored 14 off 3. David Warner remain not out on 70.

In reply to Sunrisers Hyderabad 150, Kings X1 Punjab was also looking in equal trouble as Sunrisers. Chris Gayle departs early on 16. Mayank Agarwal and K.L Rahul then added 116 runs together before Mayank Agarwal dismissed on 55 0ff 43 deliveries. Then it was a little collapse as David Miller and Mandeep Singh dismissed on 1 and 2 respectively by wasting 6 balls collectively.

Kings X1 Punjab suddenly found themselves in danger when they need 11 runs of the last over. It was Sam Curran who kept his nerves and collect 5 runs off the first 3 balls. He then left it on K.L Rahul to finish the match for his side and lift up to the expectations this time. He smashed 4th delivery to the boundary and won the match for his team.
