Toss: Kings X1 Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first

After sending to bat by Ravichandaran Ashwin, Chennai Super Kings batsmen were looking awesome throughout the innings. Shane Watson, however, dismissed early on just 7 runs off 11 balls. Faf Du Plessis on the other was just slaughtering the Kings X1 Punjab bowling. Faf Du Plessis and Suresh Raina added 120 runs together for the 2nd wicket. Suresh Raina then get back to the pavillion on 53 runs off 38 balls.

Faf Du Plessis then get back his way to the dressing room on 96 runs. He unfortunatley missed his century by 4 runs. Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav made an early exit courtesy of Mohammad Shami. MS Dhoni remain unbeaten on 10 and Dwayne Bravo was was remain unbeaten on 1 run in the end.

Chennai Super Kings Score : 170-5 in 20 overs.

In reply of Chennai Super Kings 170 runs, KX1P batsmen were looking aggressive from the beginning as they were out if the tournament before. Therefore, they have nothing to loose. Chris Gayle and K.L. Rahul had provided them a best possible start of 108 runs in 10 overs. K.L. Rahul was the first man dismissed on 71 runs off 36 balls. He was followed by Chris Gayle on 28 runs off 28 balls. Nicholas Pooran was also looking aggressive as he scored 36 runs off 22 balls. Mayank Agarwal was the man dismissed after Pooran on 7 runs off 6 balls.

Harbhajan Singh was the most expensive bowler of the IPL in this season as he gave 57 runs in his 4 overs today. He also took 3 wickets for his side.Despite loosing the match CSK qualified to the play-offs.
