Toss: Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to bat first

Opted to bat first in the Quarter finals Chennai Super King batsmen were looking in horrible form. Top order struggle alot as Faf Du Plessis, Shane Watson and Suresh Raina badly fail in a big match. Faf Du Plessis scored just 6 runs off 11 balls. Shane Watson depart after scoring just 1. Suresh Raina left the field after adding just 6 to the total. Murli Vijay and Ambati Rayudu then tries to gather innings together but unfortunately they both didnot get their timing right at all. Murli Vijay scored 26 runs off 26 balls. Ambati Rayudu misery with the bat continues till the end, however, skipper MS Dhoni showed his supreme class with the bat in the end. MS Dhoni remain unbeaten on 37 runs off 29 balls. Ambati Rayudu remain unbeaten on 42 runs in the end.

Chennai Super Kings showed pathetic performance with the bat in the first qualifier as their batting line up was looking restless against the Mumbai Indians bowling. Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar were amazing with the bowl. They restricted CSK batsmen to play big shots, they both collectively conceded 35 runs in their 8 overs spell and took 3 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings Score : 131-4 in 20 overs.

In reply of CSK 131 runs, MI had the worst possible start with the bat. Openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock departs early. But Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan were looking in prime form, the both added 80 runs together. Ishan Kishan became the victim of Imran Tahir on 28 runs. Imran Tahir gave them a double break as Krunal Pandya also depart on the very next ball. Suryakumar Yadav on the other end looking to slaughter the CSK attack as he dispatched 10 balls to the boundary and remain unbeaten on 71 runs on 54 balls in the end.

Mumbai Indians qualified for the Vivo IPL 2019 Finals.

Chennai Super King still has a chance to qualify, if the beat the winner of 2nd qualifier.
